About the Role

At Uber, the biggest growth opportunities are unlocked through the combination of data, strategy, and execution. As a Strategy & Planning Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping those opportunities - combining analytical rigor with strategic thinking and hands-on execution to influence key business decisions and drive tangible outcomes for our Sales business.

You'll partner directly with regional leadership to shape the strategy that drives merchant growth across APAC. From influencing commercial investments to improving Sales effectiveness at scale.

This is a highly cross-functional role that combines strategy, analytics, and operational execution. You'll work across markets, collaborate with leaders across Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Product, and help turn ambitious goals into measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, commercially minded, highly analytical, and excited to roll up their sleeves to solve some of our most challenging problems.

What You'll Do

Influence regional strategy

  • Partner with senior leaders to define and execute the strategic priorities that drive merchant growth across APAC.
  • Use data, market insights, and structured problem solving to identify opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and inform business decisions.

Solve complex business problems

  • Lead deep-dive analyses into critical business questions, uncovering insights and developing recommendations that influence commercial strategy.
  • Improve merchant acquisition and activation performance
  • Optimise pricing and fee structures
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and resource allocation
  • Identify new growth levers across markets

Drive operational excellence at scale

  • Design and implement scalable processes, frameworks, and operating models that improve performance across the region.
  • Partner with local market teams to codify best practices and scale successful initiatives while balancing local market needs.

Lead cross-functional initiatives

  • Own strategic projects from problem definition through execution.
  • Bring together stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Finance, Product, and Marketing to drive alignment, remove obstacles, and deliver measurable impact.

Turn insights into action

  • Move beyond analysis to execution.
  • Translate recommendations into practical plans, establish success metrics, and ensure initiatives drive real business outcomes.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Strategy & Operations, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or a related analytical role
  • Exceptional problem-solving and structured thinking skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience working with large datasets
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and influence senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives in ambiguous environments
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving measurable business outcomes
  • Advanced SQL proficiency
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker, Salesforce, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth technology company, marketplace, platform, or consumer internet business
  • Experience working across multiple markets, regions, or global organisations
  • Experience developing go-to-market strategies, operating models, or commercial growth initiatives
