About the Role

We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about trust and safety to join our Autonomous Mobility and Delivery (AM&D) Safety team. In this role, you’ll become a subject matter expert on the core safety issues impacting our autonomous delivery platforms and the levers we can pull to address them. Using that knowledge, you’ll support end-to-end safety oversight and coordination with AV Delivery partner launches and expansions.

The AM&D team at Uber is seeking to accelerate the arrival of safe, secure autonomous mobility and delivery offerings that complement our existing products and are beneficial for our customers, partners, and communities. This role will work daily with Uber’s Autonomous Mobility and Delivery team including the Director, Head of Safety for Autonomous Mobility & Delivery and AV partner operations managers.

In this specific role, you’ll help guide Uber’s approach to safety for our Autonomous Vehicle (AV) partners and serve as a focal point for internal AV safety coordination across Uber. This will involve AV safety metrics monitoring and incident response, developing and launching safety assessments, and assisting in the development of AV safety best practices. This will be a highly cross-functional role, requiring collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the complex and evolving AV space. This role will involve strategy, program management, and partner engagement responsibilities with a strong focus on cross functional collaboration.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Support cross-functional safety readiness for AV partner launches, including regulatory alignment, safety plan validation, operational assessments, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Coordinate data sharing, SLAs, and incident management frameworks while delivering risk assessments and safety recommendations.
  • Evaluate AV partner expansion readiness by reviewing updated safety plans and prior performance trends.
  • Align internal teams, facilitate clarification discussions, and deliver a final safety recommendation for expansion approval.
  • Monitor real-time safety incidents and escalations while tracking metrics, enforcing SLAs, and maintaining high-quality reporting and data integrity.
  • Analyze trends, lead safety reviews, ensure corrective actions are effective, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver regular executive readouts while escalating emerging risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of professional work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a related field such as Trust and Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Operations, or any transportation related field (2+ years)
  • Strong project management skills; can bring order to ambiguous problems and help align all partners through to execution

  • Phenomenal collaborator and someone who proactively partners across teams
  • Proven ability to respond to unexpected and challenging situations quickly
