Associate Counsel, Product & Commercial, APAC
ABOUT UBER
We are seeking a talented lawyer to join our APAC Product & Commercial legal team to help create the best product experience for our users. The role will be based in the Hong Kong or Taiwan office, and will report to the Director, Product & Commercial, APAC.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead legal reviews for new Mobility and Delivery products across APAC, providing fast commercial counsel to navigate risk.
- Project manage complex regional product roll-outs, representing APAC legal interests on UX and product strategy.
- Drive AI implementation and workflow automation to streamline legal processes in partnership with global teams.
- Draft and negotiate multi-region commercial contracts and lead their in-app product implementation.
- Act as a decisive liaison between cross-functional departments and markets to present actionable business solutions.
TOP SKILLS FOR PRODUCT LEGAL COUNSEL
- Product Counseling: Translating complex regulations into clear, actionable product advice. Prior experience doing this in a tech / platform context.
- Stakeholder Influence: Navigating cross-functional environments with high EQ and strong communication skills to build consensus.
- Commercial Acumen: Balancing robust risk mitigation with business growth objectives. Comfortable working with the ‘unknown’ and balancing trade offs.
- Tech Fluency: Solid experience with AI tools, contract management, and streamlining legal processes. Strong ‘build’ mentality.
- Resilience: Thriving in fast-paced, high-volume environments with minimal supervision.
WHO YOU ARE
- At least 3-5+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience at a top firm or in-house, preferably in a tech context.
- Law degree from a top school; preferably common law.
- Strong track record in product counseling, AI implementation, and project management.
Experience working across multiple APAC jurisdictions with international stakeholders.
Familiarity working with LLM-based tools, workflow management tools and contract management systems.
