Uber is always looking for ways to use technology to get people connected to their world as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Most people use Uber to get a safe, reliable and convenient ride. In some cities like New York City there are options like UberRUSH – our on-demand delivery product – that covers logistical needs reliably and without complicated and costly delivery arrangements.
Today, in Barcelona we are launching UberEATS, an on-demand food-delivery service that gets you the best meals from the best local restaurants in under 10 minutes. Uber previously launched this platform as UberFRESH in Los Angeles. For its first launch outside of the United States, Uber has selected Barcelona under a new name –UberEATS.
Together with Plateselector, one of Barcelona’s best foodie guides, UberEATS works with the best local restaurants in Barcelona to create a changing selection of lunch and dinner meals that you can receive in under ten minutes. In the same time it takes you to walk up Las Ramblas you can open up your Uber app, choose your meal and get it delivered to an address of your choice.

To order, just open your Uber app and tap the UberEATS icon, enter your delivery location and then select your meal on the daily menu. Uber will send your request to a driver who will deliver your meal from a local restaurant. You can watch your meal arrive in real-time, so you’ll know exactly when to meet the driver for delivery. Payment is easy, as all orders are charged to your registered card so it’s a completely cashless service.
