On December 1, Uber is making changes to its rental car operation model to comply with Regulation 103-1. Working in partnership with local taxi fleet dispatchers, rental car companies, and local transportation authorities, Uber will continue to give millions of users access to safe, reliable, and quality trips.

As we broaden our partnership with taxis in addition to rental car companies, we are keeping all the features that riders love when using Uber app. Requesting a ride will still only take three steps: You enter a destination, check the information about taxi or rental car dispatcher and driver to pick you up, and confirm upfront pricing.

As we get up to speed with this new model, riders might experience longer waiting time than usual in some cities. We expect this to be temporary, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience. We remain committed to working closely with local government to bring Uber technology to more transportation operators including taxis and rental cars, drivers, citizens in Taiwan.
