Electric scooters are already a common sight on the streets of Taiwan’s densely populated and fast growing cities. Many of them are being ridden for deliveries. We can and must do more to encourage EV usage on the platform and power the island’s transition to a greener future.

That’s why today we are pleased to announce a partnership with Gogoro, Taiwan’s world-leading battery swapping and Smartscooter company, that will make it easier and cheaper for Uber partners to embrace green deliveries.

Through the partnership, Uber Eats and Gogoro will work together in the following ways:

  • Go Green: From May 8th to August 7, up to 300 delivery partners on Uber Eats can enjoy a 6% discount on the purchase of selected Smartscooter models from Gogoro and each of them can receive an additional NT$2000 incentive in cash from Uber Eats. From May 8 to 14, Gogoro and PBGN (Powered by Gogoro Network) e-scooters  who swap batteries at Super GoStations have opportunities to receive limited NT$60 promo codes for orders on Uber Eats. From April 17 to 30, GoShare users who complete 5 trips can have up to NT$200 in promo codes for orders on Uber Eats.
  • Get Green: From April 17 to 30, orders from selected merchants with eco-friendly meals on Uber Eats are eligible for limited NT$80 vouchers to be used for GoShare.

Chai Lee, General Manager of Uber Eats Taiwan said: “As a leader in the delivery industry and good partner to cities, we have a responsibility to shape a greener future. Indeed, almost 20 percent of delivery trips on Uber Eats are already on electric scooters. We appreciate delivery partners on Uber Eats who are already committing to sustainability efforts. We are excited to add Gogoro, a leader in promoting green mobility, as a strong partner to accelerate progress. We look forward to making a greater impact through this partnership in increasing EV scooters and other partnerships in encouraging eco-friendly packaging and waste reduction. ”

Henry Chiang, General Manager of Gogoro Taiwan said: “Businesses and delivery riders can play an important role in helping cities transition to a net zero world. Gogoro and Uber Eats will work together to promote a green future of mobility and deliveries by making EV scooters and battery swapping technology more accessible to delivery riders and the general public in Taiwan. We look forward to seeing the impact this partnership will make.”

Uber welcomes more partnerships with businesses focused on green mobility and delivery who share the same vision so together we can achieve zero emissions for everyone on the planet.
