For the next couple of days thousands of people from all over the world will be celebrating Carnival season, and massive parades will take over the city streets. Both Trinbagonian residents and tourists will be looking for rides to and from the festivities, which makes Trinidad & Tobago Carnival a great time to drive and earn.

For pro-tips about where and when to expect requests, and more, check out our comprehensive guide to Carnival 2018.

Navigating the parade area

To help you navigate the festivities, instances where you would have to cross parade routes to pick up your rider will be limited. In the event that you’re matched with a rider across the parade route, please follow all signs and directions from traffic officials as you head to the pickup area.

We’ve set up several suggested pickup locations within the app to make it easier for you to find your riders to make pickups even easier.

Prepare for J’ouvert
We understand that you’re concerned about your vehicle during this time. But no worries we’ve got you covered. Get to know about the cleaning and other applicable fees put in place to keep you on the road. Still we recommend grabbing a couple of towels and protecting your seats!

Insurance for all rides on the Uber application
We’ve partnered with Guardian General Insurance Ltd to protect any third parties and riders throughout Trinidad and Tobago, who might suffer any losses in connection with the use of the Uber service.

Greet & verify your rider
With crowds of costumed Carnival-goers, you’ll want to make sure you’ve picked up the right person. Greet your rider and ask their name—if it matches what’s shown in your app, you can start the trip!

Don’t drive distracted
Riders trust you to get them to their destination safely. Using a phone mount can help you avoid distractions that may take your eyes off the road, such as texting and driving.

Office hours
Our offices will be closed until Wednesday 14th at 9:00 am. But no worries! If you have an issue don’t hesitate to contact us through the Help Menu in the Uber app, our team will be responding to you shortly!
