Flight Booked. Bags Packed. Ride Scheduled.
Written bySince Uber’s magic of “push a button and get a ride” launched 6 years ago, people have valued the ability to access rides on-demand through our app. But we’ve also heard from our riders that sometimes they want to arrange a pickup in advance so they can rest assured that an Uber will be available when they need it, even if it’s for a 4AM ride to the airport.
We totally get it, and that’s why today we’re starting the global roll out of Scheduled Rides. With just a few taps on your app, you can schedule your ride 15 minutes to 30 days in advance and have the comfort of knowing your Uber will be there when it’s time to head out.
How it works:
- Select uberX and tap “Schedule a Ride.”
- Set your pickup date, time, location, and destination.
- Confirm the details of your upcoming trip and tap “Schedule uberX.” You can cancel at anytime before your ride is on the way.
- We’ll send you reminders both 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of your pickup. You’ll be notified after your ride is on the way, as well as whether surge pricing applies.
Since the option to schedule a ride is a top-requested feature from business travelers, we’re excited to give priority access to riders who have Business Profiles or are linked to their company’s Uber for Business account.
Here’s what Zillow Group, an Uber for Business customer, has to say about this new feature:
“Zillow Group employees already love Uber for Business and we’re excited they now have the option to schedule an Uber in advance. Scheduled Rides will improve the business travel experience for our employees, especially when they want extra assurance a ride will be there when they need it.”
The global roll out of Scheduled Rides starts today in Seattle, followed by other top business travel cities. Here’s what Microsoft has to say about Scheduled Rides starting out in their backyard:
“Seattle has grown into one of the world’s great technology markets, and we’re excited to see Uber launch new and innovative features here first. With Scheduled Rides, Uber is continuing to help us all make the most of our time.”
Not in Seattle, but want early access? Visit action.uber.org/scheduled-rides to sign up to be the first to try it out in your city, or create an Uber for Business account to get early access for your entire company. Learn more about Scheduled Rides here.
