Riders in Singapore have a new option for faster, reliable rides at affordable prices with UberFLASH!

This new service matches riders with the nearest driver-partner, either a ComfortDelGro taxi or an uberX vehicle; reducing waiting time and getting riders to their destination more quickly and efficiently. Riders will be able to see UberFLASH trip fares upfront before requesting a ride. Fares will be, on average, 5-10% lower than uberX.

UberFLASH broadens the concept of ridesharing, making things better for all – driver-partners, riders, and the country. For Uber, we expect the overall impact to be positive, further boosting our confidence in continuing our investment and momentum in Singapore for the long term.”

Mr. Ang Wei Neng, ComfortDelGro Taxi Chief Executive, added, “UberFLASH is the first in a series of collaborative efforts between ComfortDelGro and Uber. From our data, we have observed how greater efficiency decreases waiting times, which in turn, increases rider demand for ridesharing services and potential to unlock better earnings.”

With the introduction of UberFLASH, Uber remains committed to ensuring a quality experience for all riders and driver-partners. Uber will maintain its high standards for driver-partners and vehicles allowed on the app. The other features that have contributed to a great Uber experience, including the mutual rating system and the customer support infrastructure, remains available and in effect to maintain these standards.

Warren added, “We have only touched a sliver of the overall pie when it comes to ridesharing and taxi usage – there is still a lot more room to grow, effectively growing the pie for all.”

ComfortDelGro Cabby Frankie Chew, who has driven with ComfortDelGro Taxi for about 20 years, looks forward to new opportunities with UberFLASH. He said, “I love booking jobs because they ensure that I spend less time driving around looking for a fare. With the new UberFLASH, I can get even more jobs so this is definitely good news.”

Mr. Jameson Chin, a driver-partner who has been using the Uber app for 8 months also believed that UberFLASH will have a positive impact for him, saying, “This will improve things for riders, which will encourage even more people in Singapore to start adopting the service, ultimately improving the earnings opportunities for driver-partners like me.”
