Stay In-Tune & Safe with Uber at Laneway Festival This Year
Written byCue music, food, fun, dance and drinks at this year’s Laneway Festival.
As the exclusive ridesharing partner for Laneway and as members of the community, Uber is deeply committed to your safety. Our Uber driver-partners will be out in full force on the festival night to help keep you and our roads safer.
We’re all aware of the dangers of drink driving. In Singapore, alcohol plays a role in 10.6 per cent of road traffic fatalities.1
At Uber, we believe that bringing increased access to safe, reliable and more affordable transport at the touch of a button helps everyone make smarter decisions.
Time to tap. Ride. Eat. Dance. Repeat. Stay Safe. Festival-goers are encouraged to stay safe while enjoying a few and the best of Laneway. Avoid the oh-oh moments by taking the Uber pledge to #DitchTheKeys and be a #ProudRider.
Being a #ProudRider also means respectful rides. A reminder to both riders and drivers to please be kind and respectful. As outlined in our community guidelines, we hold everyone who uses Uber to the same high standards so both drivers and riders may enjoy a 5-star ride.
FESTIVAL SAFETY TIPS:
We invest in our technology to ensure safety is central to the journey of our riders, consumers, drivers and delivery-partners. Heading to and from Laneway Festival? Here are 5 useful tips to help you stay safe while riding with Uber.
- Dedicated Drop-off & Pick-up: As the exclusive ridesharing partner for Laneway, Uber is ready to go whenever you are. Simply tap a button and get dropped off or picked up at the dedicated Uber Lounge located right at the festival entrance.
- Get in the right car & buckle up. Before you get in the car, check that the licence plate, driver photo, and driver name all match with what’s listed in the app. Uber rides can only be requested through the app, so never get in a car with a driver who claims to be with Uber and offers a ride. Remember to click when you sit. The Singapore study reports that seatbelt use is the most effective way to save lives and reduce injuries related to car accidents.
- Share your trip details with a friend. While en route, tap “Share status” in the app to share your driver’s name, photo, licence plate, and location with a friend or family member. They can track your trip and see your ETA without downloading the Uber app.
- Be kind and respectful. As outlined in our community guidelines, please respect your driver and his or her car.
- Give feedback on your trip. Your feedback helps us improve the Uber experience for everyone. Our 24/7 global support team reviews feedback and will follow up with appropriate action on any reports of conduct that violate our community guidelines
