Behind The Wheel: Meet Ibrahim
Written byWe’re proud of the work we have done in Saudi over the past two years, and humbled by the large number of Saudi nationals choosing to join the Uber platform.
We’d like to celebrate and recognize a few of the extraordinary driver-partners who, through their determination, have achieved success, and improved the lives of those around them. These hardworking individuals showcase what Uber Saudi is all about.
Meet Ibrahim, a student, who signed up to drive to earn an income while enjoying the flexibility to balance his time and focus on school.
Tell us about yourself – what do you do when you’re not driving?
I’m currently studying computer science at Prince Sultan University in Riyadh.
How did you hear about Uber?
Well, I’ve always been interested in technology and innovation; I saw a couple videos that mentioned Uber on social media and decided to visit the website.
Why did you join Uber?
The concept of Uber really fascinated me. I appreciate the fact that I can make money using my own car and turning it into a source of income rather than just being a source of expenditure. I also enjoy the freedom of being able to go online or offline at anytime, it really is a major feature for me as a busy student.
What do you like about the Uber platform?
I like meeting Uber riders from all over the world; people are different and it is a pleasure to learn how to give the best service to different people. I also like that I can work at anytime whenever I want. It’s great that I can receive cash payments which means you don’t need to wait to be paid, there is really a lot to like about driving with Uber.
What do you hope to achieve?
I hope to offer a very high level of customer service satisfaction and be able to identify each rider’s needs easily. I also hope to continue meeting new interesting people as I do now and to continuously receive new opportunities to widen my horizon.
Would you recommend Uber to your friends and family?
I would recommend Uber to anyone; you have nothing to lose. It’s pressure-free, rather than an obligation like a corporate working environment where you have a boss and fixed schedule.
