On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we have partnered up with Dar Al-Hekma University and Niche Arabia to join 10,000 women at #WeAreTheJewels, the first ever female event held at Al Jawhara Stadium – King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.
If you’re heading to the event tomorrow, Thursday March 9th, enter the promo code WeAreTheJewels* in your Uber app for 20% off your rides to and from King Abdullah Sports City.
As we celebrate Women in Fitness this International Women’s Day, we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine Hassan, one of the We Are the Jewels fitness consultant and organizer.
Meet Yasmine Hassan
Born and raised in Jeddah, Yasmine started going to the gym as a teenager and has never looked back: “I truly believe that fitness leads to living a larger life, a life that is more interesting, more exciting and more colorful!”
“My office was the gym. I loved it.”
After three years at a job that was taking a toll on her body, Yasmine decided to take time and get her first fitness certificate from American Council on Exercises. She found working as a trainer more enjoyable: “After ten years in the field I can proudly say I am a fitness consultant, a strength and conditioning coach, and an rehab injury trainer.”
“Be resilient and empower others.”
When it comes to fitness, Yasmine encourages women to challenge your beliefs, commit to the journey, be resilient and empower others. She has taken that to heart in her role in the first female sports event at King Abdullah Sports City.
Yasmine is just as excited as we for the #WeAreTheJewels event this Thursday: “with a fitness event of 10K female attendees right around the corner, all I can say is thank you Uber for supporting us to make this historical day happen!”
