To clarify the misperception that Uber failed to coordinate with the LTFRB prior to the launch of uberCOMMUTE, prompting said agency to issue a cease and desist memo on social media, Uber advised the LTFRB of uberCOMMUTE on two separate occasions.

On November 14, 2016 a letter was sent to the LTFRB, DOTr, and MMDA informing them of Uber’s intention to launch uberCOMMUTE and the details thereof.

Following its launch, a position paper was then submitted on December 5 upon the verbal request of Chairman Delgra to Uber, relayed during the ASEAN Transport Minister’s Summit in PICC.

Uber is happy to provide said documents once again in the event that these have been overlooked.

uberCOMMUTE is a platform that empowers car owners to share their regular daily drives going to their place of work with other riders headed in the same direction to save on costs and help #SolveTraffic.  We look forward to dialoguing directly with the LTFRB, the DOTr, and the MMDA on this matter as we pursue our vision of improving the state of the transport industry in the country and doing our part in helping reduce traffic congestion.
