Today, with technology and the proliferation of mobile devices, we see a democratization of writing emerging across the country and the world, and blogging is rapidly becoming the people’s platform of choice.

From politics to fashion, food and pop culture blogging has given more people the opportunity to find their voice and share it, celebrating diversity and culture while creating a virtual marketplace of ideas limited only by our own imagination.

Last Night, we celebrated the positive contribution of blogging at the Best Cebu Blog Awards, and awarded our first ever Uber Influencer Award to Ram Mancelita of Sugbu.ph.

Since Uber’s launch in December 2015, bloggers have been a huge part of our journey in Cebu. The blogger community showed their support from day one, and helped us connect with Cebuanos, learning more about this city and its people – and falling more in love with Cebu, the Queen City of the South.

We are proud to recognize their instrumental role in sharing and celebrating their city, a value we share at Uber; and show our strong support for the young and thriving blogging community in Cebu.
