Westpac NZ and Uber have partnered to offer free Uber rides to Kiwis, giving new and existing Westpac personal Mastercard holders the opportunity to experience more this winter and save up to $150.

From 27 June until 30 November, Westpac personal Mastercard debit and credit card customers can get every third Uber trip free – up to the value of $30. Customers can ride as many times as they like, saving up to $150 per customer for the duration of the campaign*.

This means Westpac personal Mastercard customers can get around the seven cities where Uber is available in NZ, for less. That includes Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown.

Shane Howell, Westpac’s Chief Product Officer, said Westpac was delighted to be able to bring the offer to all Westpac personal Mastercard customers.

“Our collaboration with Uber will make it more affordable for our customers to get out and about – whether it’s dinner out with friends, watching a game or getting home on a cold evening. It’s a convenient and practical way for us to help our customers go a little further this winter.”

Existing Westpac personal Mastercard customers will receive their promo codes from today.

Commenting on the offer, Uber NZ Senior Operations Manager, Amanda Gilmore, said: “Uber’s mission is to offer Kiwis a safe, affordable and reliable way to get around our cities and we’re delighted to link up with Westpac to make Uber rides even more affordable for their eligible Mastercard customers.

“It’s great to partner with such a respected and innovative company as Westpac and offer Kiwis the chance to experience more of their cities with Uber.”
