Uber is pleased to confirm the appointment of two senior leaders who will inspire the company’s next phase of growth across Australia and New Zealand.

Susan Anderson has been appointed General Manager, Australia & New Zealand, overseeing the ridesharing business across 24 cities, stepping up from her previous role as General Manager, ANZ Cities, Uber Eats. Susan is a proven global leader with a passion for innovation and a diverse background spanning marketing, strategy consulting, retail, tech and startups in Australia and the UK.

This follows Jodie Auster’s recent promotion to General Manager, ANZ, Uber Eats, where she is responsible for leading the online food delivery business across 16 cities after spending 12 months driving growth in key Australian markets for Uber Eats. With unique experience combining medical expertise with management consulting and business leadership in tech companies, Jodie has considerable experience driving operational excellence and building high-performing teams.

Commenting on the appointments, Brooks Entwistle, Asia Pacific Chief Business Officer, Uber, said: “I’m so pleased to see these two strong leaders be promoted in ANZ to guide our people, product and partnerships to new heights.

“With extensive experience leading teams in high-growth companies, Susan is well placed to take over the steering wheel in these two important markets. Already more than 2.5 million Aussies & 300,000 Kiwis choose to ride with Uber each month, supported by 70,000 driver-partners who drive using the Uber app to earn a flexible income. We expect this strong growth will continue in 2018 under Susan’s leadership as we help to unlock urban mobility and complement public transport in our cities.”

Raj  Beri, Uber Eats Regional General Manager, Asia Pacific, added: “Jodie has started the year with a bang, already overseeing considerable growth across our Uber Eats business in 16 ANZ cities. Her deep understanding of the tech landscape and how this feeds into consumer and restaurant behaviour will be critical as we look to unlock the next phase of growth for  Uber Eats in these two key markets.”

Susan succeeds David Rohrsheim who launched Uber in Australia in November 2012 and is taking paternity leave for the birth of his second child.  Dave leaves a thriving business and the team is looking forward to his return later this year.
