Since launching McDelivery on Uber Eats just one year ago, Kiwis have embraced getting their Big Mac® and Hot Fudge Sundae fix delivered at the touch of a button.

In July 2017, McDonald’s Greenlane in Auckland was the first McDonald’s available for delivery on the Uber Eats platform – with Wellington-based restaurants from the world’s favourite fast food chain on Uber Eats when the app launched in September.

McDonald’s quickly became a popular option on the Uber Eats app with the delicious Big Mac® being the most sought after item for delivery on the menu, followed by a cheeseburger and a 10 pack of Chicken McNuggets®.

The fastest Uber Eats delivery was completed in just 4.5 minutes, and included three 20 packs of Chicken McNuggets® and an Almighty Angus® burger from McDonald’s Grey Lynn.

Following this success, 36 additional McDonald’s restaurants will soon be listed on the Uber Eats app across New Zealand, including four new cities – Hamilton, Tauranga, Christchurch and Dunedin. This brings the total number of McDonald’s restaurants on Uber Eats to a massive 62.

Uber Eats NZ Country Manager Andy Bowie says: “McDonald’s is massively popular in Auckland and Wellington on Uber Eats, and we’ve been receiving huge demand from other cities asking for local McDonald’s restaurants to join the platform.

“So I’m happy to say these calls are being answered this month. Now, Kiwis in four additional cities in Aotearoa can get their favourite breakfast muffins, combo meals and late night snacks delivered direct to their doors.”

McDonald’s director of marketing, Jo Mitchell adds: “McDelivery via Uber Eats has proved an instant hit with our customers. Speed and convenience has always been at the heart of our brand and people have told us they love getting their Macca’s favourites delivered at the touch of a button.

“McDonald’s and Uber Eats worked hard to launch in a short space of time and one year on we continue to optimise the delivery process, protect the quality of the food, and improve operational efficiencies so orders get to customers as quickly as possible.

“It’s been fascinating to see how Kiwis use McDelivery, and there’s been strong demand to continue to roll out across more regions. It’s great to now be in the six cities in which Uber Eats operates.”
