Easter always is a fun time: the painting, the egg hunts, spending time with family and, most importantly, eating chocolate bunnies and good food. This year it’s once again buzzing with activities all over the country, with Easter festivals, bonfires, markets, basically anything you can think of! Most people are free on the Easter weekend, so it is the best time to have a nice brunch with family and friends and celebrate. If you’re celebrating in Eindhoven, these are some of the best Easter activities to enjoy.
Stroll around an Easter market
On Easter Sunday, you can visit the FeelGood Market. Shop around the market stalls for unusual, boutique products from local designers and organic snacks and drinks, and enjoy interesting workshops and live music. It can be a simple, fun day out for the whole family or with your friends. The market is from 12:00 to 18:00 at the Klokgebouw. And if you do attend, check out the Longboard Freestyle and Dance World Cup, also taking place at the Klokgebouw on Easter Sunday, for a spectacular and unique show of longboard tricks and dancing.
Spoil your taste buds during the Easter brunch
Last year, the Family Easter Brunch in Smaaktheater Dertien was a great success, so it’s no wonder that it’s back again this Easter. Join them on Easter Sunday and Monday and you can compose your own brunch from the various sandwiches, spreads, salads, fruits and soups they have on offer. Of course, there are also fun activities for children.
Enjoy an Easter concert
Crazy about movies and film music? On Easter Monday, you can visit the Muziekgebouw to see – and hear – the ‘Movies in Concert’ project for an alternate Easter activity. The Philips Harmony plays film music from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, James Bond and much more, accompanied by images created by students of audiovisual design from Sint Lucas creative school. It promises to be a unique show!
A different kind of Easter festival
Would you rather just go and party with your friends to celebrate Easter? Then head to Paaspop in Schijndel, opening the Dutch festival season with a bang during the Easter Weekend. It’s a guaranteed three days of festival fun and excitement less than half an hour from Eindhoven.
Tip: Book an Uber and share the rides to Schijndel. You can save the extra money from fare splitting for drinks and food – and, of course, it’s also more fun to travel together! Use our fare estimator to calculate the travel costs.
Whether you’re going to enjoy an Easter brunch or a stroll through one of the Netherlands’ many Easter markets, one thing is certain: this Easter is going to be a fun one!
