Things to know

Tips for safe riding

We are especially thankful to drivers whose efforts are essential to keeping the country moving during this challenging time. We ask that you please keep your driver’s wellbeing in mind by: 

• Wearing a face mask at all times when you’re travelling with other people.
• Washing your hands (or using hand sanitiser) before entering the vehicle
• Giving your driver space by sitting in the back seat.
• Covering your mouth or nose if you cough or sneeze (please take any used tissues with you)
• Opening the window to improve ventilation

Drivers have been given the same reminders to ensure trips with Uber are as safe as possible. Uber is also providing drivers with free hygiene kits, which include face coverings, hand sanitisers, and cleaning material. Drivers are asked to disinfect their cars between trips, paying special attention to frequently touched areas like car door handles and seat belts.

• Where can I redeem the offer in the Uber app?

  Where can I redeem the ofTap the menu in the top left and select ‘Wallet’, then select ‘Add Promo Code’ at the bottom and add the promo code. Now navigate to the rides home screen and enter the pickup and dropoff location.

• Can I use this promotion to get a vaccination at my general practitioner or another location outside of the mass-vaccination centres?

  No, this promotion only applies for trips to/from the below mass-vaccination locations across the Netherlands which are listed above.

• Can I use this promotion for a trip to and from the vaccination hub?

  Yes, you can order maximum 2 promo trips from and to a vaccine centre.   

• Can I use the promotion code together with any other promotions?
  • No, only one promotion can be used per trip. 
  • If you have multiple promotions on your account, you can choose the promotions that apply.
• Are any trips not included?

  Please note the Uber promotion does not apply to cancellation fees or tips. It also does not apply to trips that do not start or end at one of the listed mass vaccination centres. You will see the promotion applying before you request the trip. If you don’t see this, make sure the trip is starting at or ending at one of the  vaccination hubs listed above.

• How do driver earnings work when this promotion is applied?

  Drivers receive the same fare on these trips as they do on regular trips via Uber. The promotion on these fares is being funded by Uber, as we pay part of the fare on your behalf.

• What happens if I need to request a refund for my trip?

  If you need to request a refund for your trip for any reason, you can follow our standard in-app help refund process.

• What if I need further support?

• Is it safe for me to take a trip using Uber during the COVID-19 crisis?

  The safety and wellbeing of everyone who uses Uber is always our priority. To help limit the spread of COVID-19, please follow government guidance. We are continuously monitoring guidance and regulations relating to COVID‑19 and are taking steps to help keep our communities safe. Uber is also providing drivers with free PPE kits which include hand sanitisers and face coverings, and are asking drivers to disinfect their cars between trips, paying special attention to areas where riders sit and touch, like the car door, handle, seat belt, and seat.

Terms & Conditions

a) This Promotion is open to all riders in The Netherlands aged 18 years or over who have an Uber account and are compliant with the Uber User Terms, except employees of Uber, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of this Promotion. 

b) The promotion is valid from May 12th 2021 until September 30th 2021at 23:55. 

c) The promotion will end when 20.000 codes are applied, based on ‘first come first served’-principle, or when the end date is reached. 

d) The Promotion code for rides via Uber will only apply to rides with UberX and Uber Green in The Netherlands starting or ending at one of the applicable locations listed on this website.

e) To apply the Promotion, apply the Promotion code in the Uber app before requesting your trip. The Promotion will only apply where rides via Uber are available, check the app for availability of rides.

f) The maximum restitution is €10 per trip. When a trip costs more than €40, you will be liable for the full remaining balance of that ride, which shall be charged to the payment method selected. 

g) The offer is only valid for 2 rides.

h) The offer cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. The offer does not apply to cancellation fees, or tips. Uber retains the right to amend or cancel this offer at its discretion without notice.
