“We know the people of PJ have been anticipating the arrival of Uber Eats ever since our app first became available in Malaysia last September. We are thrilled to bring the Uber Eats experience to PJ and surrounding areas – helping more Malaysians enjoy easy, convenient and affordable meals at the tap of a button; whether they crave local favourites or top-tier restaurant offerings. At the same time, restaurants are seeing real growth and business returns by partnering with Uber Eats while more individuals now have access to flexible earning opportunities as our delivery partners. We’re building on all this momentum to bring the joy of Uber Eats to more neighbourhoods in Malaysia!” said Shri Chakravarthy Gopalakrishnan, General Manager of Uber Eats (Malaysia and Singapore).

More than just a delivery app
Uber Eats aims to not only connect Malaysians with the food they love, but to also contribute positively to the economy by facilitating additional earning opportunities and helping to grow the markets for Malaysian restaurants.
For delivery partners, it is facilitating new economic opportunities with more vehicle options, at more times of the day. “Uber’s technology aims to make things better for all, and Uber Eats is no exception. With this rollout, we are also facilitating flexible earning opportunities for more Malaysians who delight in connecting people with their food,” added Shri.
The benefits are extended to restaurant partners as well. “From small popular eateries to more established restaurants, outlets that don’t have an existing delivery service now have the opportunity to expand their customer base beyond the confinement of their restaurant spaces,” Shri added. “With the power of technology, limits are lifted as to how restaurants want to engage more consumers with their food offerings. Uber Eats’ technology will give restaurant owners the tools to improve their business with analytics and insights to make better data-driven decisions.”
Uber Eats will begin serving PJ neighbourhoods, including SS2, Seksyen 17, Kota Damansara and Bandar Utama from 9.00am to midnight, seven days a week; with plans to grow quickly and in the near future. Payment will be made through credit and debit cards, with an average delivery time of 33 minutes.
