Your Uber app processes payments for any trip you take. Before requesting a ride, use your app to add a payment method of your choice to your account. When a trip ends, your preferred payment method will be charged.

To set up a payment account:

  1. Tap the menu icon and select PAYMENT.
  2. Tap ADD PAYMENT.
  3. Add a payment method by selecting the cash option, scanning a card or manually entering card info.

To pay by cash:

  1. Go to the ‘Payment’ section in the app
  2. Select ‘CASH’ as your payment option
  3. Confirm your pickup location and request your ride
  4. At the end of the trip, pay the fare directly in cash to your driver

To scan a card:

  1. Tap “scan your card”.
  2. Allow the Uber app to use your camera.
  3. Center the card onscreen so that all 4 corners flash green.
  4.  Enter the expiration date month and year, CVV number, and billing ZIP/Postal code.
  5. Tap SAVE.

To manually enter a card:

  1. Enter your card number.
  2. Enter the expiration date, CVV number, and billing ZIP or postal code.
  3. Tap SAVE.
