For the city of Phnom Penh, having Uber here means having another choice in the transportation landscape of a rapidly growing city, which joins more than 600 cities across 77 countries around the world where Uber is available. We could not have done this without the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and are very grateful for their close partnership and forward-thinking approach to ridesharing!

Brooks Entwistle, Uber’s Asia Pacific Chief Business Officer said, “We are very excited to launch ridesharing technology in Cambodia; to serve riders, driver-partners and the city of Phnom Penh. This launch signifies our ongoing momentum across Southeast Asia. However, we could not have done this without the support of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia.”

H.E. Pheng Sovicheano, Secretary of State, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Transport is committed to building a safe, reliable and modern transport system. For that reason, MPWT has been working with UBER for six months to explore new “shared mobility” transport systems such as ridesharing. The launch of UBER demonstrates how Government and industry can work together to take advantage of new technology. MPWT congratulates Uber on its launch in Cambodia and looks forward to it as a success story in Asia.
