It’s nearly time for our next stop in the India South Asia region. Marching forth with our aim to serve 200 cities in the region over the next 12 months, we plan to launch multimodal operations in Bareilly over the next month.

The city of kites will be Uber’s eighth stop in the state of Uttar Pradesh, after Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, and Noida. We’ll offer our most popular options in Bareilly — UberGO, Uber Auto, and Uber Intercity — to ease the transport needs of the city. Along with providing reliable and safe transportation options to millions of riders, the launch will also provide livelihood opportunities to scores of driver partners.

The safety of riders remains key for us. Over the last one year, we have introduced various safety features such as RideCheck for proactive help, call anonymisation to protect the privacy of riders, comprehensive background checks of drivers,  reminders to Check Your Ride before boarding, Share Trip for peace of mind, 24/7 Safety Helpline for any urgent assistance during the trip as well as insurance for riders. We are also in the process of introducing Pin Verification for additional security.

Driver-partners have always been at the core of our business. Over the years, we have facilitated comprehensive welfare schemes to improve the lives of its driver-partners. Initiatives such as UberCARE and Uber Plus are industry-first programs for the driver-partner community and offer multiple benefits. With the UberCARE program, drivers across the country can access benefits such as Life insurance, Health Insurance, Micro Loans, School Admissions under RTE & Free Doctor Consultations.
