Expanding our footprint in India South Asia, we today launched operations in the city of Rajkot — our 60th city in the region. The “city of paintings” gets our affordable and convenient Uber Auto, now available at the tap of a finger.

Rajkot is the eighth city in Gujarat to get the option of calling their own Uber, after Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Mehsana, Nadiad and Vapi. The launch is in line with our aim to be present in 200 cities over the next 12 months.

Along with being a convenient travel option for the residents, Uber Auto also provides our community of driver-partners improved earnings and optimum utilization of their time, resulting in financial independence. In the coming months, we plan to expand our services with UberIntercity to address the varied mobility needs of the city.

Driver-partners have always been a core part of the business for Uber. Over the years, we have introduced comprehensive welfare schemes to improve the lives of our driver-partners. Initiatives like Uber Care and Uber Plus, industry-first programs for the driver-partner community, offer multiple benefits. With the Uber Care program, drivers across the country have availed a host of benefits such as Life insurance, Health Insurance, Micro Loans, School Admissions under RTE & Free Doctor Consultations.
