With your varying travel needs in mind, including a desire to retain your Uber and its driver for several hours, as well as to make multiple stops on a trip, we are today launching Hourly Rentals. This is a 24×7 on-demand service to aid intracity transport, as the country emerges from an extended lockdown.

Hourly Rentals provides great value to those who need extra time to complete several chores on one trip, and you can add multiple stops without booking trips over and over again.

The service costs Rs 189 for a one-hour/10 km package and can be booked for a maximum of 12 hours. Here is the list of starting prices according to cities.

Hourly Rentals is available in 17 cities, namely Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Kochi, Lucknow, Guwahati, and Kanpur, and Bhopal.

The service is a win-win for riders as well as drivers, who can now lock in an upfront time frame for the service provided and add to their earnings with an additional mobility option.

Safety has always been and remains top of mind for us on this service. Over the past few weeks, we have launched a comprehensive set of safety measures, such as the Go Online Checklist, a mandatory mask policy for both riders and drivers, pre-trip mask verification selfies for drivers, mandatory driver education and an updated cancellation policy allowing both riders and driver to cancel trips if they don’t feel safe.

The new service has been integrated with your Uber app seamlessly, and booking Hourly Rentals is as easy as booking a regular trip. You only need to update your Uber app to the latest version if you can’t see ‘Hourly Rentals’.
