Access to clean and safe sanitation is one of the most essential needs for anyone who spends long hours working on the road. Marking World Toilet Day, we’re proud to partner with Sulabh International, a pioneer in sanitation and social reform, to make this access easier, safer, and free for Uber drivers across India.

Through our partnership, Uber drivers can now use Sulabh operated public toilets free of charge across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. This initiative supports our wider goal of improving on-road conditions for drivers while also contributing to the national priorities of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

We also want to ensure that our women driver-partners have access to safe and reliable menstrual hygiene support as they go about their day. To enable this, 50 Sulabh public toilet complexes will be equipped with sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators, providing free sanitary products and a hygienic way to dispose of them.

Uber drivers can avail this benefit by presenting their Uber registration ID on the driver app at Sulabh operated facilities. All locations are maintained by Sulabh to ensure cleanliness, regular upkeep, and the availability of essential sanitation supplies.

This partnership reflects what we believe in at Uber: improving the everyday experience of the people who move India. By combining Uber’s reach with Sulabh’s decades of sanitation expertise, we’re working to create safer, more dignified, and more inclusive working conditions for driver-partners across the country.

Together, we’re taking a meaningful step toward making safe sanitation a basic right, not a privilege for those who keep India moving.
