Uber Mumbai’s fare construct for rides requested from the Domestic and International airports is undergoing a change with effect from 19th December, 2016.

The Mumbai International and Domestic Airport’s management has allotted designated pick-up areas for commercial vehicles entering the premises to pick-up passengers. While this allows for greater convenience and a shorter walk to your ride after a long flight, the management has levied a mandatory surcharge for all commercial vehicles entering this area to accept requests.

Domestic Airport:

In light of the above, we’ve adjusted our fares to automatically account for this surcharge on a ride successfully requested at the domestic airport. This works in the same way that the sea-link toll is automatically added to your trip fare. When a toll or surcharge is charged to your account, our driver partner produces proof that he has paid for it, upon which he is reimbursed for it. This means that you do not need to pay cash to your driver, beyond the final fare displayed at the end of the trip.

International Airport:

The same applies for all trips originating at the International Airport at the P6 and P7 pick-up points. Pick-ups originating anywhere else will have to be paid separately in cash at the rates specified by MIAL. Your driver will produce proof that he has to pay for it, upon which you should clear the charge immediately.

An airport surcharge is applicable to your fare if you’re picked up from one of the following locations:

Pick-ups at any spot other than the aforementioned pick-up points are subject to standard commercial vehicle pick-up fees specified by Mumbai Airport authorities and therefore, we would encourage all riders to adhere to airport regulations.
