Our goal at Uber is to ensure a ride within minutes, at the tap of a button – everywhere, at any time for everyone. Uber is able to provide this reliable and seamless experience by matching drivers and riders in real time at any given location.  

As you may have experienced over the last three months, getting a reliable ride wasn’t as easy as before. A ton of riders were staring at their screens that read ‘no cars available’. Riders who were used to getting an Uber within few minutes, were now waiting significantly longer.

Our focus is to bring back some of that reliability to you. Starting today, when demand is high, your upfront fare will also account for how many drivers and riders are using Uber at the moment — so that you get more reliable rides in lesser time. You can choose to ride solo or pool with others — whatever meets your needs and budget best — all fares will be shown upfront and will always be within government prescribed maximum fare rates.

Almost a year ago, when we introduced upfront fares in Bangalore with uberPOOL, we realised that you want to know your fare before you request. Even with today’s changes, there is no complicated maths and no surprises. Just sit back and enjoy the ride!
