We are excited to announce that we have extended our timings and you can now request a MOTO anytime between 7AM and 10pm.  Afterall, Uber is all about connecting you with a reliable ride, whenever you need it.

You’ve probably experienced trying to find a ride on a busy weekday evening, a holiday like Diwali, or a surprise monsoon shower. It’s hard! Because when lots of people want a ride at the same time, you often have to wait a long time because all the available motorbike rides are already busy. Our goal at Uber is to ensure you can push a button and get a ride within minutes — even on the busiest days of the year.

NO MATH, NO SURPRISES

Starting monday, upfront fares will be calculated using your MOTO trip’s expected time and distance, and will take into consideration the traffic situation and availability of drivers at the time of the request. There may be short periods when demand heavily outweighs the amount of motorbikes on the road. During those brief peak times the system will dynamically adjust prices upwards in increments to encourage more drivers to come online, and ensure that those who need a ride the most, can always get one.

When fares go up due to increased demand, riders will be quoted the actual price of the trip, so they are certain of what they pay before they request. There’s no math and no surprises, so you can always decide what works for you and your budget.

All you have to do is enter your pick-up and drop-off locations, and the upfront fare feature will show you the price for that trip, just like you already do.

FAQS

How will the upfront fare be determined?
Upfront fares are calculated using an algorithm that takes into consideration the expected time and distance of the trip, local traffic patterns, demand and supply at a given location. We’re able to use past data to estimate the likely cost of the trip, and can present that price to a rider before they request. When dynamic pricing kicks in due to high demand, it helps us incentivise drivers to get their cars out on the roads to address the demand. In the process, we are able to not just predict demand and supply but also bring down the wait times for riders, increase earnings for our partners, your Uber drivers and bring down the prices once again soon as supply meets demand.

Surge icons and surge screens will not appear for up front fares – Why?
We did away with all surge notifications because we believed that telling people the fare upfront was a better way to go. So far people have appreciated the fact that with upfront fares they are always aware of how much they will be charged and can make an informed choice even during times when the prices increase due to high demand. If they find the price too high they can choose not to ride.

This is aimed at providing riders with more information immediately, so they can choose the product that best meets their needs and budget.

Is the upfront fare completely inclusive (i.e. includes the booking fee, toll charges etc.)?Generally yes. There are some instances when the final fare could be lower than the fare given upfront (for example, if the user has a promo code applied) — or higher, such as if the rider changes the destination of the trip.
