One month of no cancellation fees

Good news – your cancellation fees are on us!
Top Uber riders deserve Uber-special privileges, and we constantly aim at giving them,  memorable ride experiences. 
We have decided to waive any cancellation fees that your account may incur. For one month, starting today (13/07/2018), you don’t have to worry about cancellation fees. 

How this works:

Open your Uber app and enter your destination
You will be able to view a new option for UberGO called UberGo VIP which is added especially for you, as seen in the image. (Note that you will get an UberGO vehicle as your ride)
Book your ride using the UberGo VIP option to enjoy a cancellation fee waiver (In case of cancellations after 5 minutes)
Ride in comfort with Uber


Cancelling your ride before 5 min If you cancel your ride before 5 minutes, you will receive a notification like the one shown in the image. You do not have to worry as you will not be charged this fee. This cancellation fee will also be waived off for you.	Cancelling your ride after 5 min If you cancel your ride after 5 minutes, you will receive a notification saying “You have been charged ₹0 for your driver’s time” like the one shown in the image. You will not be charged a cancellation fee for the same.

How can you help us?

It is simple – please use this feature judiciously, keeping in mind the driver-partners as well. We understand that certain cancellations are unavoidable, but we request you to use the cancellation feature only in times of need.

Confused? Let us explain
We understand that there may be times when your booking may not go as planned – maybe you changed your mind after requesting, or maybe you are facing trouble connecting with your driver. These may lead to a cancelled ride.

Since you have been our loyal Uber rider, we are extending our token of thanks by waiving cancellation fees – just for you. So, now when you may have to cancel a ride due to certain problems, you do not have to worry about a fee being charged to your account. You will not have to go to the help section on our app to get an incorrectly charged cancellation fee credited back to your account, as you will not incur this charge at all.

All you have to do is book another ride on Uber, and ride stress-free.

Terms and conditions
- This option has been made available to a select few riders in Chennai only.
- We encourage you to use this feature judiciously, keeping in mind the driver-partners as well. We understand that certain cancellations are unavoidable, but we request you to use the cancellation feature only in times of need.
- This is applicable until 12th August only (one month)
- Cancellation fees will be waived on the special ‘UberGo VIP’ vehicle view only.
