This year Uber is participating in the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic victims – a special day that pays tribute to the individuals, families and communities impacted by road traffic crashes. According to the World Health Organization approximately 1.3 million people lost their lives as a result of road traffic crashes and millions more were severely injured.

Without action road traffic crashes are expected to become the 7th leading cause of death by 2030, and countries around the globe are working to raise awareness about this enormous impact and implementing programs and policies designed to make the roads safer for all travelers.

Join us on social media with the hashtag #WDR2016 as we reflect and express our empathy for the millions injured, their bereaved families and impacted communities around the world.
