In celebrating UberEATS’ first anniversary in Hong Kong, here’s a thousand and three hundred cheers to restaurant partners who opted for UberEATS app as their designated food delivery platform.

UberEATS would not have enjoyed such a wonderful ride going into the second year of operation without the support from rich culinary and cultural heritage players such as Lin Heung Kui, Lung Wah Hotel, and Tso Choi Restaurant; as well as leading food & beverage groups such as Black Sheep Restaurant, Yoshinoya, Watami, Nam Kee Spring Roll Noodle, and Bafang Yunji.

Mr. Horace Lam, General Manager of UberEATS Hong Kong, invited Mr. James Harrison, Head Chef from Black Sheep Restaurant’s Maison Libanaise, to create an order-to-delivery demonstration, with a touch of magic to the show-and-tell with one of his signature dishes. Horace also invited Sammy, one of UberEATS’ long-time delivery partner, to share his journey with the platform, as well as some fun and interesting encounters.

As Horace celebrates UberEATS’ birthday with the presence of media friends, he recalled his early days with UberEATS, where he witnessed the tremendous growth of the business starting from just less than 200 restaurant partners to 1,300 today – a remarkable sixfold increase in just one year.

Apart from thanking his team for their achievement, he said, “On behalf of the UberEATS team, I would like to thank all restaurant and delivery partners for putting in the time and effort in making sure that every single order we receive on UberEATS are being delivered to the door steps of our customers in a timely manner. ”

“The rise of digital technology has significantly transformed food delivery. With just a tap of a button, customers can order from a diverse selection of food and restaurant and checkout through secure online payment. We believe our app will continue to attract new users as we offer the much needed convenience all city dwellers need.”

Horace also shared some fun facts collected on UberEATS, such as the most-ordered food items during the coldest and hottest days, most popular delivery items, as well as the commercial buildings with the highest rate of overtime. “UberEATS is not just a food delivery app, it’s a tech company that can utilize big data to predict food trends, eating habits or even overtime work habits”, he says.

UberEATS proudly announces that we have expanded to our 12th district last week – Yuen Long! UberEATS is the first of all delivery apps in Hong Kong to service this area. Users can now order a range of delicacies from a wide selection of restaurants through UberEATS app or UberEATS website. UberEATS covers areas of MTR Island Line, Kowloon, Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Kwai Tsing and Yuen Long.
