Mother’s day is an important celebration for us – whether you are a mother or a child. But this year’s Mother’s Day comes as an exceptionally special day for Janelle.

The beautiful mother of three gave birth to her son Raphael six weeks ago during an Uber ride, in which she described as an amazing, yet exhilarating delivery.

Like many other amazing delivery stories, the first Uber baby in Hong Kong was not planned at all. Upon arriving for Janelle’s morning meeting at 8:30am, the marketing veteran and young mother of two felt unwell, and with the help of her two young colleagues, decided to head to the hospital.

Having to travel from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central during peak hour  safe and sound, her first instinct was to request an Uber.

“Everyone was calm. The boy was born healthy at the end of the day and the driver was just fantastic,” said Janelle, who kindly shares her very unique experience in video.

The Australian-Chinese lady is a super Uber fan, having travelled around with her French husband Alexis and have used Uber services in 14 countries. To her, Uber 7-Seater is always her go-to choice for the family’s beach outing, the favourite pastime for the couple and their three cute and adorable kids – Jade, Chloe and Raphael.

Thank you Janelle – and all the great moms out there. Your unconditional love and sacrifices are the best gift, and one that us, as children, cannot possibly repay. Thank for loving us, and we wish you a very happy Mother’s Day.
