Inhale… Exhale…Buddha’s Birthday is coming right up and it’s time to bust out some meditation! Instead of just meditating at home, why not head out and chill with our favourite buddhas? But we all know that finding peace and quiet is not an easy thing to do in Hong Kong, which is why our three favourite monasteries are located away from the urban buzz. Don’t worry though – let’s not stress ourselves with transportation troubles. Let Uber take care of that.
Tsz Shan Monastery: One without incense
Tsz Shan Monastery is the home of the world’s second tallest outdoor Guan Yin Statue, standing at 76 meters tall. Not only this, but it is also the first monastery in Hong Kong to adopt the spiritual practice of water offering, instead of incense offering. Within the monastery, you can also get yourself fed at Cafe Sujata with some complimentary snacks. But keep in your peaceful mind that the Tsz Shan Monastery only takes in 400 visitors each day, so remember to book online before you visit!
