We have recently reviewed cancellation and wait time fees based on your feedback.
Cancellation Fees
Cancellation fees are applied to the rider in certain situations where either the rider or the driver initiates a trip cancellation. For example:
When you are on your way to the rider’s pickup location, and your rider cancels after a few minutes (rider-initiated cancellation), or
When you arrive at the pickup location and the rider doesn’t show up after you wait for a long time and then you choose to cancel (driver-initiated cancellation).
Wait Time Fees
This is the fee that riders will pay after the free waiting time is over, until the trip begins. If the trip is cancelled, the rider will not be charged a waiting fee in addition to the cancellation fee.
Both Cancellation and Wait time fee amounts will differ by city and vehicle option – you can find details below. The Cancellation Fee and Wait Time Fee Policy are both detailed in the ‘Help’ section within your Driver app.

The fee will be waived for a small subset of cancellations if your Driver exceeds the initial estimated time of arrival (ETA) by 5 minutes, if your Driver hasn’t made any progress towards your location or if your Driver is driving further away from the pick-up location. In those instances, you will be waived for the cancellation fee and Drivers won’t be eligible to receive the cancellation fee.
