TERMS & CONDITIONS of Uber Hockey Prize promotion

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Prize promotion Terms”) carefully prior to participating in Uber Hockey Prize promotion (the “Prize promotion“). By participating in the Prize promotion each participant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Terms and Conditions. You may not submit an entry to the Prize promotion and are not eligible to receive the prizes described in these Prize promotion Terms unless you agree to these Prize promotion Terms.

Contest Timeline: The Contest begins on May 1st 2024 at 20:00 Central European Time Zone and ends on May 18th 2024 at 23:59 Central European Time Zone. 

The winners will be selected by Uber on May 7th, May 13th, May 20th 2024. The winners will be contacted and provided with all information about how to redeem the prize through his/her personal email or phone number no later than May 22nd 2024. The prize should be redeemed by the winner before May 26th 2024.

Contest Area: Czech Republic.

The Prize promotion is organized and sponsored by Uber B.V., a private limited liability company incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands (registration number 56317441), whose registered address is Burgerweeshuispad 301, 1076 HR, Amsterdam, the Netherlands (“Uber” or “Sponsor”).

Eligibility: To be eligible to enter the Prize promotion, a Participant must: (a) have an Uber account, i.e. must have downloaded the Uber mobile app, installed it into the smartphone and accepted the terms of use. By entering the Prize promotion, you warrant that you satisfy these eligibility requirements.

Uber employees and family members of Uber employees are explicitly excluded from participating.

Uber reserves the right to disqualify any participant from the Prize promotion if, in Uber’s sole discretion, it reasonably believes that the participant has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the Prize promotion by cheating, deception, or other unfair playing practices or annoys, abuses, threatens or harasses any other participants or Uber.

How to enter

In order to enter the Prize promotion all the actions described below must be performed within the Prize promotion Timeline as set out below.

In order to participate in the Prize promotion you have to perform at least one ride in at least one drawn period. If you perform one ride in a given drawn period then you will be eligible to participate in the game in that period. The periods are the following:

At the end of each period the winner will be selected from those Participants who took the ride in the period and filled out the questionnaire (see below). If you take a ride in more than one competition week you can be added to the prize draw for each competition week in which you took the ride in. If you take more rides then just 1 per contest period, your account will be in the selection only once – it does not mean your chances for selection will be multiplied by the number of rides taken.

If you have completed the ride as described above (which can be anywhere in the Czech Republic in any city where the rides with the Uber app are available.), in order to  qualify for the draw, you can complete the hockey quiz questionnaire until the end of the given competition period (see above) and succeed in answering the questions in the quiz. By answering the questions and completing the form, you agree that your data will be used to select and contact the winner. Completing the form is voluntary.

Those who performed the action described above and comply with eligibility requirements are considered to have submitted an entry to the Prize promotion and become Participants of the Prize promotion.

Uber is entitled to suspend an entry into the Prize promotion for any person which does not comply with the eligibility requirements specified above in the present Prize promotion Terms.

How the winner is selected

The winner draw will be performed on every 7th day on work days (always counted from the day the newsletter/comms were sent  – this day/comms day included) counting from May 1st till the last draw on May 20th 2024. If the draw falls on a weekend or public holiday, the winners will be selected on the first working day after the weekend, on which the draw should have been performed. By completing the hockey quiz you agree that your data will be used to select and contact the winner. After the quiz completion the number is assigned to your Uber account. The winner numbers will be selected randomly. The winning number is then connected to the Uber account and the winner is contacted by email stated in the quiz form.

Prize

The Prize will be assigned by Uber to the winner. 

The Prize is the tickets to the Ice Hockey World Championship 2024 that is taking place in Prague and Ostrava (Czech Republic). In total we are distributing 28 tickets in 3 selections (first 2 selections we are giving away 12 tickets for 6 winners per selection and on the last selection it is 4 tickets for 2 winners). 

EACH PRIZE IS NON-TRANSFERABLE AND CANNOT BE EXCHANGED FOR CASH.

Uber is fully entitled to refuse to give out a prize in case it reveals violation or non-compliance with the present Prize promotion Terms. Uber is entitled to decide what to do with unredeemed prizes at its own discretion. 

Privacy

Participants agree and acknowledge that personal data submitted with an entry, including name, mailing address, phone number, and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used by Uber and its affiliates and transferred to partners of Uber which provide prizes for the Prize promotion for the purposes of conducting and administering the Prize promotion, which could include a transfer to a country with less strict data protection laws than the one you reside in, depending on the prize. Individuals submitting personal information in connection with the Prize promotion have the right to request access, review, rectification or deletion of any personal data held by Uber in connection with the Prize promotion by writing to Uber at the following address: Burgerweeshuispad 301, 1076 HR, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Warranties and Indemnities

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Participant indemnifies and agrees to keep indemnified Uber at all times from and against any liability, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses resulting from any act, default or omission of the Participant and/or a breach of any warranty set forth herein. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Participant agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Uber from and against any and all claims, actions, suits or proceedings, as well as any and all losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising out of or accruing from: (i) any misrepresentation made by Entrant in connection with the Contest; (ii) any non-compliance or improper understanding by Participant of these Contest Terms; (iii) acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize.

Governing law: These Prize promotion Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic and the competent Czech courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Prize promotion.
