Switzerland is voting this weekend. Perfect occasion to kick-off our first of many commitments to contribute and support the democratic system of Switzerland.

So, in case you forgot to mail your vote up to now, no need to worry – we’ve got you covered! This weekend we are offering you free rides up to 10 Fr. to the polls in your local municipality.

Important for you to know: You may only vote in your proper residential municipality (exception: Zurich HB). The blue boxes below will give you more information.

ZURICH

  • Promo code: VOTEZRH
  • Polling stations: The code is valid for all trips ending in your local voting station in your “Kreis” (residential municipality)
  • Validity: The code is valid Saturday (27.2.16) and Sunday (28.2.2016) from 6.30am – 12pm in Zurich city

 

BASEL

  • Promo code: VOTEBSL
  • Polling stations: The code is valid for all trips ending in your local voting station in your “Gemeinde” (residential municipality)
  • Validity: The code is valid Saturday (27.2.16) from 1.30pm – 5pm and Sunday from 8.30am – 12pm in Basel city

 

HOW IT WORKS

  1. New to Uber? Register here for free and enter the promo code VOTEZRH or VOTEBSL, depending on your city
  2. Download the Uber App on your phone (iOS, Android or Windows Phone)
  3. Open the app and login
  4. Easily request your free ride* from home and uber to the polls

*In case the fare turns up to be higher the difference will be charged to your the credit card attached to your profile. Since there are many poll stations in each municipality, this would be the exception.
