It’s been almost 2 years since uberPOOL launched in Toronto and it’s incredible to see riders across the GTA embrace carpooling and share their ride. More people in fewer cars means less congestion on our roads.

There are over 200,000 people who actively use uberPOOL each month in the GTA, and what’s more is these pooled trips are happening at peak congestion hours.

Earlier this year we expanded outside Toronto to Scarborough and Brampton. And now, starting today, we have expanded our uberPOOL service areas to include the new transit stations in Markham and Vaughan. This initiative aims to help offer a first/last kilometre solution to commuters who are looking for affordable and convenient ways to connect to public transit.

Now people on the go in Markham and Vaughan will have the option to share their ride with others heading in the same direction at the same time. With more people in fewer cars, riding becomes more affordable—and there is less time between trips for drivers. This initiative aims to help offer a first/last kilometre solution to commuters who are looking for affordable and convenient ways to connect to public transit.

Our POOL service area now includes the TTC’s expanded transit stations including:

  • Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) Station
  • Highway 407 Station
  • Pioneer Village Station
  • York University Station
  • Finch West Station
  • Downsview Park Station
  • Sheppard West Station

How it works:

  1. Set your destination on the “Where To?” bar, anywhere in the uberPOOL service area
  2. Select uberPOOL and request your ride
