As UberEATS approaches its second anniversary in Toronto, one thing has become clear: there is no shortage of delicious food or passionate restaurateurs in this city. The cost of starting a restaurant can be hundreds of thousands of dollars and often requires months of construction, procurement, and planning. To help make it even easier for food makers to succeed in the restaurant business, we’re excited to announce a new initiative today: The UberEATS Pop-Up Kitchen. The Kitchen will allow food makers to start, test, and launch a delivery-only restaurant concept in less than a month with minimal financial commitment.

The UberEATS Pop-Up Kitchen will run from May 1-31, featuring up to four independent restaurant concepts. Chosen restaurant teams will be given access to a fully-equipped commissary kitchen for the month to run their own delivery restaurant. In addition to the space, these entrepreneurs will be provided with training and seminars around restaurant best practices from some of Toronto’s restaurant thought leaders. Topics will include: menu design, delivering outstanding customer service, managing food costs, and much more.
