Uber + Jack.org team up to get Edmontonians talking
Written byOn Friday, February 19th, we’re teaming up with Jack.org to get Edmontonians thinking and talking about mental health.
While 1 in 5 Canadians will develop a mental illness, every Canadian has mental health. Just like physical health. So why is it so hard to talk about mental health in the same way we talk about our physical health?
By partnering with Jack.org, we want to generate a discussion to help increase awareness around mental health. And where better to start a conversation than in an uberX? While riding with friends, try starting a positive conversation around mental health with your fellow riders and driver-partner. A simple conversation can go a long way in raising awareness and helping to end the stigma associated with mental health.
We’ll also donate $1 for every uberX ride on Friday to the Jack Summit—a three day event that brings students together from across Canada to inspire action, develop leadership skills, and create a national network of young people who are transforming the way we think about mental health.
Together, we’ll build a safer, more supportive community, where there’s no shame in talking openly about mental health or reaching out for help with a mental illness.
