Today we were joined by hundreds of supporters to ask the provincial government to approve rideshare licensing and insurance so that thousands of Albertans can continue to earn a living, and tens of thousands do not lose access to a much needed transportation system. We were overwhelmed with the amount of support we received from riders and drivers alike:

In January, Mayor Iveson and Edmonton City Council passed new regulations to embrace ridesharing. Its bylaw requires the provincial government to establish forward-looking norms for ridesharing insurance and licensing for driver-partners. If the province doesn’t take action by March 1st, Uber will have to discontinue operations in Alberta.

Thank you, Edmonton for raising your voice in support of ridesharing in Alberta. We continue to reach out to the province in the hope to keep Albertans earning and moving.

We will keep you informed of any developments.
