If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that we’ve all missed connecting with our family and friends, and making new friends, too! And if one thing is true about Canadians, it’s that we know how to have fun. Come rain, shine, or snow, city dwellers across the country, keen for a good night out, regularly flock to restaurants, clubs, retro dive bars, storied music halls, and ritzy cocktail bars.

With nighttime escapades making a major comeback as the pandemic subsides, Uber Canada is releasing its first-ever Nightlife Index.

Drawing from both Uber Rides and Uber Eats data, we’re sharing insights highlighting everything you need to know—from the top partying nights of the year, Canada’s wildest and tamest partying cities (based on the volume of late night riders), the top hangover foods across the country, and the most unexpected hangover food orders.

As you revel in your city’s nightlife, remember that just because you drove to the party, it doesn’t mean you are capable of driving home. No matter how you get home, Uber and MADD Canada are supporters of all rides that get you there safely. Alcohol and cannabis can stay in your system as long as the next day, so don’t drive to pick up food and take advantage of getting it delivered right to your doorstep with Uber Eats.

As we turn the corner on the pandemic and we are going out again with family and friends, we want to remind you not to drive imparied. Plan ahead, call a friend, have a designated driver, stay overnight, find a ride with the Uber app, or take transit to get home safely,” said Dawn Regan, Chief Operating Officer for MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).

Uber Canada supports MADD Canada’s work to prevent impaired driving and encourage Canadians to choose sober ride options if you have been consuming alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs.
