As of Thursday, October 28, the Uber app will have a new feature: ‘Public transport’. Uber users in the Brussels region can now plan their journey by public transport with real-time information directly integrated into the Uber app.
After entering their destination in the app, Uber users will be offered a ‘Public Transport’ route. Once selected, they will be able to see the available public transport routes that will take them to their destination, as well as the departure and arrival times in real-time, and receive directions to walk to bus, metro or bus stations.
Laurent Slits, head of Uber Belgium, is enthusiastic about the integration in the Uber app: “Our riders in Brussels need the right options available at their fingertips for every trip. For certain trips it can be even faster to take public transport than any other form of travel, and we are delighted to offer our users a seamless way to plan all public transport options right from our app. Through the launch of this service, Uber continues to invest and innovate in Brussels in order to contribute to the economic attractiveness of the region.”
With the ‘Public transport’ feature, Uber is strengthening its mobility platform offering both LVC trips as well as electric bicycles and scooters and now by public transport. It does not include ticketing.
