Today, we are thrilled to announce the expansion of Uber services across 20 cities, spread over all eight Divisions in Bangladesh. With resurgent growth and great business momentum as a result of significant pick up in demand, we are now offering Uber services on two, three and four wheels across the length and breadth of the country.

Over the last few years, we have established ourselves as a multimodal ride sharing platform of choice with our safer, hassle-free and affordable commute options in Bangladesh. With a wide product portfolio to suit different use cases such as Rental, CNG, Intercity, Connect. Moto etc., commuting across the cities has never been easier and simpler. This, in turn, has unlocked flexible earning opportunities for more driver partners on our platform. 

Uber services are now available in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Bogra, Bagerhat, Barisal, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Jessore, Comilla, Moulvibazar, Nilphamari, Sreemangal, Feni, Dinajpur, Khulna and Cox’s Bazar. Additionally, to introduce the magic of urban ridesharing mobility at the tap of a button throughout the country, Uber launched Moto recently in Gazipur and Natore, its 19th and 20th cities respectively. With the addition of these two cities, UberMoto is now available in all the 20 cities, UberX in 5 cities, UberPremier in 1 city, UberCNG in 3 cities, Rental in 3 cities, Intercity in 4 cities and UberXL in 2 cities. 

We are upbeat about the growth of the ride sharing sector in Digital Bangladesh and we remain firmly committed to growing and expanding our business here. We are also doubling down to serve the mobility needs of our customers by focussing on products that best fit the market. 

Recently, we also launched a slew of new features for driver partners which empower them to make informed choices. To remove frustration for riders and drivers alike, we now show trip destinations to drivers upfront before they decide to accept the ride. We are also showing drivers the mode of payment (cash or online) before the trip starts. This enables the drivers to choose a cash-only ride if that’s what they need. Through the introduction of these new features, the long time complaints of passengers and driver partners regarding ride cancellations are gradually decreasing.  

At Uber, communities matter to us and we are super proud that we are able to touch the lives of our communities in these 20 cities in a little over five and a half years. Our journey is only just beginning and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones in the years to come.
