You might not be boarding a plane to go globe-trotting anytime soon but you can still let your tastebuds travel the world thanks to our first ever virtual food festival, boarding Australia-wide from today.

Your Local Food Fest (June 18-30) celebrates the diversity of cuisines across the country and lifts the lid on the exotic local restaurants behind some of Australia’s favourite dishes. It’s the ultimate excuse to discover restaurants nearby – that feel like they should be a lot further away.

Thirteen might be unlucky for some, but for hungry Australians the Uber Eats app is a boarding pass to thirteen days of deals on thirteen different and delicious cuisine types from all across the world – all available in the palm of your hand and without a passport.

Day one is a ticket to Tokyo. Japanese cuisine is still simmering in popularity across Australia with ramen keeping eaters satisfied all year round. In fact the total length of all the noodles ordered on the Uber Eats app in 2019 was 9-times longer than the distance from Sydney to Tokyo.

To kick off Your Local Food Fest, you can get 30% off your order of $20 or more from participating Japanese restaurants. (excluding delivery fee and up to a maximum $30 off the total value of your order). Head to the promotions tab in the Uber Eats app and enter the code ‘SUPPORTLOCALJP’ to redeem the day one offer.

There are more promotions and offers for every day of the campaign, with Uber Eats picking up the tab on all of them, so if you don’t want to board the sushi train there are still a dozen other foodie adventures to embark on.

We’re not going to spoil the surprise by dropping all the daily deals at once – instead look for clues every morning on our dedicated Your Local Food Fest website where you can also learn more about the chefs, and their cuisines – from Middle Eastern to Mexican, Italian to Indian and more mouthwatering morsels every day.

There are thousands of incredible restaurant partners on the Uber Eats platform taking part, from global names to local favourites so don’t miss out on the opportunity to meet some of the faces that are set to take your tastebuds on a taste trip across the globe.
