Shannon Bennett’s New Vue
Written byShannon Bennett’s reputation has been built on the wonder and elegance of Vue de Monde, the pinnacle of fine dining in Melbourne. Despite being known for grand dishes that appeal to all the senses, it’s now the humble hamburger, the focus of Bennett’s plans.
Cafe Vue is the cafe embodiment of Bennett’s cooking and starting today he launches his new, burger loving menu on UberEATS.
It’s a move away from the modern French dining we know him for, in favour of something that resembles one of his other ventures, Benny Burger.
Benny Burger is currently being trialled at Sydney International Airport, with plans to bring multiple of them to Melbourne by mid-2017.
“I’ve decided to partner with UberEATS, because it is the talk of the food industry and it allows me to share my take on burgers…we use only the finest of ingredients like the six hour braised Blackmore’s beef.”
“I’m also looking forward to bringing Benny Burger to Melbourne later this year/early next year, but in a way this is an opportunity to trial my burgers at Cafe Vue.”
With six children, all of a young age, feeding them is no easy task to which he even remarks that the convenience of UberEATS has saved himself and wife Madeleine on many occasions.
“It certainly makes life easy, with the large family I’ve used UberEATS to order from places like Belle’s Hot Chicken and of course I’ve tried George Calombaris’ Gazi.”
For the UberEATS food photography, Bennett meticulously worked away in the Cafe Vue kitchen for a few hours, carefully preparing each dish himself. Hands on, and stopping to greet guests as he worked.
A perfectionist, not content with the way the bacon looked on the the chicken burger he even came across with a pair of scissors to cut it precisely. The end product, immaculate of course.
While Melbournians will have to wait for Sydney’s Benny Burger we now have the closest thing, the burgers and sandwiches of Cafe Vue available to you on UberEATS.
