Ever broken up with a partner and never bothered to get your favourite hoodie back, at the risk of having to see them again? Or maybe you’d rather donate your exes’ overnight bag to charity then have to organise to meet them again?

Well you’re not alone. 66% of Aussies claim they would rather say goodbye to their belongings for good than have to see their ex partner again, with 1 in 4 claiming the retrieving said items is just too awkward*.

In fact, over a third of Aussies would rather wait on hold with a customer service team for 2 hours than meet their ex to get their stuff back, endure the sound of someone obnoxiously chewing, or drunk text the wrong person*.

Lucky for all you awkward exes, we’ve got you covered, with our easy, no-contact delivery solution, Uber Package.

How Uber Package works

Uber Package is a same-day, on demand delivery service that allows people to send items whether it’s your exes’ stuff, a care package for a loved one, a gift for a friend’s birthday, or an item you sold online.

You don’t need postage, or to wait for hours or days for your package to arrive – the delivery person simply transports the package from your location to your chosen destination.

Follow these simple steps to use Uber Package:

  • Prepare your package and secure it shut. Ensure the package is not greater than 20kg in weight (or, for a ‘Small Package’ delivery request, not greater than 5kg in weight), valued at $100 or less and meets all other package requirements***.
  • Select ‘Package’ in the Uber app, enter your delivery information and request a delivery. You’ll need to review and confirm your agreement to the Uber Package terms and conditions before your delivery can be booked.
  • Reply to the message you’ll receive in the Uber app asking for the recipient’s name and any special delivery instructions for the delivery person.
  • Meet the delivery person curbside and load your package into their vehicle.
  • Instruct the recipient to meet the delivery person curbside to retrieve the package.

Uber Package is available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Canberra, Newcastle, Geelong, Hobart, Darwin, Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Townsville and Wollongong. Read more here.
