It’s been a tough few months of lockdown for New South Wales, particularly for those in Local Government Areas (LGAs) of concern, with higher COVID case numbers and harsher lockdown restrictions.

We know that Sydney has a bit of a sweet tooth, with dessert orders increasing by 97% between May and August this year. So, to show the LGAs of concern that we’re rooting for them, the first to reach its 80% double vaccination target will be rewarded with a sweet deal on Uber Eats.

For the first LGA to reach the 80% double vaxxed target, those residing in the relevant suburbs in that LGA will be able to get up to $20 off an order (excluding fees) from their favourite dessert store via Uber Eats (Delivery Fee and Service Fee apply). This will be available for 3 days across the weekend after the target is reached.

So come on – Bayside, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, Strathfield and Penrith – who’s it going to be?

How it works

We’re keeping a close eye on the NSW Government vaccination tallies – so once the first LGA of concern reaches that 80% double vaxxed sweet spot, we’ll activate the promo code on the next Friday after the vaccination target is reached. The offer will also run for the entire weekend that follows.

In this LGA? Here’s how to redeem your sugar hit:

  1. Open the Uber Eats app and search for a participating store under the ‘Desserts’ category
  2. Select your favourite sweet treat and it to your basket
  3. Look out for the promo code in an email from Uber Eats or on our social media channels and apply the promo code to your account. You can do this at checkout or under the ‘Promotions’ section in the app (this will only work in the LGA that hits the 80% target first, and on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday after the target is met!)
  4. Checkout, pay for the Delivery Fee and Service Fee.
  5. Sit back, relax and watch your local delivery person come through with the goods!
