As restrictions ease across Australia, we want to make sure drivers, delivery-partners, riders and eaters feel confident when using the Uber apps.

That’s why Uber and Uber Eats have partnered with Reckitt Benckiser (RB) to provide access to free health and hygiene kits, including Dettol Instant Hand Sanitiser and Disinfectant Wipes. This additional investment from Uber will help ensure that driver and delivery partners can access sanitisers and disinfectants at no cost, meaning Australians can order a ride or food delivery with confidence.

These free kits make up part of Uber’s $50 million global commitment to help provide equipment for hygienic rides, and makes Uber the only rideshare platform in Australia to help make disinfectants and sanitisers available for every trip.

Eligible driver partners will be able to request their free packs from today, and as driver partners across the country receive their products riders may notice Dettol hand sanitiser available for their Uber journeys. We’re also working to introduce a new interface on the Uber app that will let people know when their driver partner has Dettol products available on a trip.

These investments are in addition to new cleaning and sanitisation videos for driver and delivery partners which include information and tips on the best way to sanitise vehicles and delivery bags, and a new Go Online Checklist, which asks partners to confirm that they’ve taken certain safety measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 before they go online.
