Today we have flicked the switch that will power on the Uber Eats app in four new towns in three different states along the east coast of Australia.

This is great news for residents of Albury, Wodonga, Shepparton and Bundaberg, but it’s even better news for local business owners, who in a few hours time will be able to tap their restaurants and cafes into the convenience of online food delivery that could help to generate more money-making avenues for their businesses.

We know from a recently launched research report that in 2021 Uber’s platforms encouraged Australians to support local restaurants and merchants which they would otherwise not have had access to, leading to $889 million in additional revenue.

People in these four cities are about to discover the magic of tapping a few buttons and getting your favourite items delivered. And the excitement extends beyond convenience of eaters, or new channels for restaurant owners with platform benefits also translating to people who want to unlock flexible earning opportunities as a delivery person.

Of course to create excitement and opportunities in local economies, you need the best local businesses and we are proud to be providing the technology and demand channels for some of the most popular restaurants in these four towns already known nationwide for their quality produce.

On launch day in Albury locals will be able to discover some of their go-to names like –  Greenstreat, Chopstix House, Urban Graze as well as Crust Pizza and Zambrero.

While across the Murray the following showstoppers will be visible on day one in Wodonga- Wilson Street Store, Country Chicken Stop, Junction Pizza and Effies Takeaway.

Fellow Victorians traveling or living in Shepparton will be happy to see familiar names like – Mario’s Pizza and Pasta, Noodle Box, Branditt Ave Pizzeria and Cold Rock – available at the tap of a few buttons.

And further North in Bundaberg the following stores will be accessible on the Uber Eats app –  @ James place, Ensoku and Sushi Lovers Bundaberg.

No matter how locals are expecting to unlock the convenience of Uber Eats in these four new locations we’re going to make it easier for them to re-discover an old favourite or to find somewhere new with a $20* promotion funded by us to their first order – simply use the code BIGFOUR to get started.
